A deposit in Dubai, a KNET payment in Kuwait, a Whish wallet in Beirut and a ZainCash transfer in Baghdad are four different integrations with four different settlement behaviours. A product that claims to cover the region has to have built all of them, and the refund path for each.
We have. Tap, Ziina, Paymob, MyFatoorah, PayTabs, Thawani, ZainCash, Whish, Tabby and Tamara, and Stripe for everyone else. The lesson from building them is that the gateway is the easy part; reconciliation and refunds are where the month is lost.
Telephony is harder. There is no Twilio number in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, so a phone agent needs a local carrier, a SIP trunk and a session border controller in front of the voice model. It works. It is also the reason most AI receptionists demoed in this region are running on a US number.
