The pitch that ERPs cannot do AI is out of date, and making it marks you as someone who has not opened the product recently. Odoo 19 ships a capable assistant inside the system. So does everyone else at that tier.
What those assistants share is a boundary: they live inside the software, for the people who already use the software. The customer calling a clinic at nine at night is not inside Odoo. Neither is the WhatsApp message in a Lebanese dialect, or the supplier who only answers the phone.
The durable gaps in this region are voice, real conversation on WhatsApp, Arabic that actually works across dialects, and the question of who pays for the tokens. None of those are solved by a copilot bolted onto a ledger, and none of them require replacing the ledger.
So we integrate. The ERP stays the system of record. The agent lives at the edges, where the customers and the suppliers are, and writes back through the same door a human would use.
